About Me

Welcome and thanks for checking me out! I guess this is where I tell you how I’ve been blogging for years and I’ve been in the industry forever. How I entered the world wearing five inch heels, and was able to name every top designer by age five. Alphabetically. Well my story is nothing like that. I was a hefty, awkward, and very shy teenager. And it wasn’t until my senior year of high school, when I dropped six dress sizes, that fashion became a big part of my life.

When I started college I was pre-med, and just before I entered my specialty I changed my major to fashion. Boy were my parents thrilled. Not really. But I stuck it out and it’s been the best decision I’ve made thus far. I left my home in Atlanta to come back to Chicago for school and to advance my career as a merchandiser, stylist, and makeup artist.

My philosophy is simple: If you look good, you feel good. This is at the core of why I love doing what I do. When I style someone, or write a post, or give someone a makeover I help bring out their inner beauty. I’m a firm believer that what’s on the inside will directly manifest on the outside, and if I can help make that happen all this is totally worth it. I know how it feels to be the ugly duckling, and it bites. Hard.

One thing I wish I would’ve done as a teenager is embrace that stage of my life. It was then that I developed friendships that have stood strong til this day, when I took time to learn about myself, what I liked, didn’t like, and wouldn’t stand for. And once that stage, that cocoon, had run it’s course I emerged as a beautiful butterfly. I am so very grateful for my awkward years because they molded me into the person I am today. I hope you enjoy this blog because I’ve put every piece of myself into it.

Stay beautiful 🙂
